Five Simple Things (November 26)

Hello.

Here are five things this week.

1. This Holiday.

Thanksgiving was great this year. This holiday always means something different to me than it does for most people. I tried to take my own life a few years ago and was placed on suicide watch for 72 hours. When I finally came out of the clouds it was the day before Thanksgiving. I had a lot to be thankful for that year and every year after that. I have a lot to live for and people around me every day that help me, support me, and encourage me. It's a constant battle with the demons of my past, but I am always grateful that I make it to another Thanksgiving each year. We cooked everything at home this year and I even made my very first pumpkin pie. I hate cooking and baking, but every once in awhile I will get in a weird mood to try something. A lot of things I cook or bake aren't the best, but sometimes I do okay. Happy Thanksgiving.

2. This Hat.

Recently we took a hike at Silver Creek Falls and in the nature store I snagged this hat and the soaps below. It was a nice time getting out and about after being inside for several weeks. This beanie will get some great use in the coming weeks. It's supposed to get down pretty cold and stay there for awhile.

3. This Soap.

4. This Meal.

Haven't been feeling 100% lately and sticking to my bed has helped me recover. The meals in bed by Skylar and Jeff have also helped. For a bit I thought I might have coronavirus, but all tests I took, which was four, showed a negative.

5. This Aid.

Along with not feeling my best lately I have also been sore. I've been working out a lot more lately, so I think my feeling of being drained and "sickly" could be contributed to that, as well. I have had this pain relieving cream for awhile and really put it to good use these last couple of weeks. The ingredients are all natural and the arnica has done a lot of my sore muscles, especially my back. I don't remember who made this cream, but it I run across it again I will share.

Did you catch the moon near the Shoe Buckle Cluster this week (21), or the moon passing the Beehive Cluster (24)?

Positive affirmations this week:

Here are a few reminders from dae.

Have a nice weekend.

Five Simple Things (November 19)

Hello.

Here are five things this week.

1. This Night.

Home alone has a new meaning for me lately. I enjoy the solitude of not hearing anyone else's voice, or having to talk to anyone. A lot of the voices in my head are past abusers and their insults, complaints over me being me, or just their tone in my head. Alone time for people with anxiety issues is a huge deal and helps them regulate their ups and downs. I've always been told that I talk too much, and it used to really bother me because I thought it was because I was too social of a person. Now, as I've gotten older and been able to understand mental health issues more, I've realized that I only talked so much and talked fast because of my anxiety when talking to certain people. I actually prefer to be alone than with other people, especially people that don't mesh well with me. Not that I don't enjoy being around the small group of people in my life, it's mostly that being alone allows me to recharge my social battery. Plus too, if you can't enjoy being alone with yourself, then that's definitely something that you need to work on. Being alone with yourself and loving who you are alone is the most important aspect in being able to be around others and know who you are while conversing or interacting with them. I was never taught this as a child. Mostly, any feelings, emotions, or uncomfortableness I felt I was told to stop being goofy, or stop being awkward, or to even be something I wasn't. Instead, my parents should have listened to these feelings, listened to me discourse I had and encouraged me to talk about them more. But now, as an adult, I am learning.

2. This Box.

This week's haul with the Misfits Market was a good one. We even snagged a few bags of organic Halloween candy they still had in stock. You can sign up here and get $10 off your first box.

3. This Movie.

We went to see Ghostbusters:Afterlife at the Pix Theatre in Albany, Oregon. We have always been Ghostbuster fans, but this movie didn't do it for us. The start of the movie was okay, but from the middle to the end it lost steam. We especially loved seeing the tribute to Egon (Harold Ramis), but overall the ending was not that great. I still say go see it if you enjoy Ghostbusters, but be prepared. Also, don't leave the theater right when the movie is over, there is a small scene in the middle of the credits.

4. This Closet.

We redid the hall closet in our house, which needed and overhaul anyway. We turned it into our podcast closet and so far we are enjoying being in our own little space when we record. We have so many plans in the works for a larger podcasting room later on, but for now, this will work.

5. This Area.

I love the color pops on this old building in Albany, Oregon. Sometimes we drive around the cities to get out and about and this apartment/business building caught my eye recently.

Did you catch the Great Square of Pegasus this week (13), or the Leonids Meteor Shower (16), or how about the full Beaver Moon and the partial Lunar Eclipse in 600 years on the nineteenth?

Positive affirmations this week:

With the holidays coming up it's important to remember that you are in charge of how you feel. You are in control of how much and what you allow into your space. Other people's issues are not your issues. And, it's okay to leave, step away, or even say no to things that you are not comfortable with. You can do this!

Have a nice weekend.

Night at the Arcade

We took some time away from everything and played at Arcade Fun at the Two Rivers Market Mall in Albany, Oregon. It's been awhile since we've been to an arcade, so it was a lot of fun and kind of nostalgic for me.

Five Simple Things (November 12)

Hello.

Here are five things this week.

1. This Box.

We're been enjoying out shipments from Misfits Market again this week. One thing we've noticed is that it helps keep us in control of our portion sizes. I honestly haven't been the grocery store in over four weeks because of these shipments. It's a great way to stay on an all-organic diet, and a great way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet weekly. You can sign up to get this box here and get $10 off your first order.

2. This Kitty.

I mean...♥

3. These Chopsticks.

I found these while out doing other errands and I am curious about how they will work for hair buns. More on this later.

4. This Pinterest.

I've been pinning a lot of great ideas for our land, house, and even our future bus conversation we have in the works. If you're on Pinterest, too, I'd love to connect and share ideas. You can follow me here

5. This Trailer.

Skylar and I are pretty excited about the new season of "Stranger Things." The new season is supposed to hit sometime in March of 2022 and we are anxiously waiting for it. We absolutely love this series and we are excited to see where they take it.

Did you catch the moon near Venus this week (7), or Mars near Mercury (9), or the moon near Jupiter and Saturn (11)?

Positive affirmations this week:

This was a moment that I posted on my story on Instagram this week. I got a few messages in return that they were grateful that I posted this and reminded them that everything is okay and that it helped them. I think that's the best reward for me in posting my vulnerable moments to the public and online. There is a moment of not feeling alone with your struggles, but it's mostly that you're fine and everything you're doing for yourself and the efforts you're making to better yourself are what others are facing, too. You can do this! You really can! Don't let other people that are not where you are hold you back. Your pace is yours, and mine is mine and we are all going to be okay.

Have a nice weekend.
