Airplane flying fun

Who would have thought that a Styrofoam airplane from the hobby store, would provide all day fun for us.  This thing is a blast!

.....and sometimes it landed on the roof.

Once it was rescued, it was back to flying!

Time to break out fall nail colors

This is the best time of the year to switch out bright and shiny colors of the summer to fall, matte, and darker, earth-tone colors for fall and winter.  I prefer to bring out my darker earth-tone colors during the fall months, and save the silvers, whites, and dull golds for winter months, especially around Christmas.  Here are the colors I will be sporting this season for fall.

From top to bottom:

1.  Revlon Top Speed nail polish in Moss color.

Revlon honestly doesn't make this color anymore, but you can get a few being sold on eBay, or even Etsy sellers looking to lighten their stash of "supply" polishes for nail art.  Revlon does carry a lot of other colors in the Top Speed though, that are just as pretty.

2. PRITI NYC Nontoxic Nail Polish in Mushroom color.

This polish came from Gaiam and was $13.  It's nontoxic, biodegradable and 100% vegan.  The colors vary from reds to darks and after two coats, it looks amazing.

3. Color Club in Dark n Stormy Color

This one was actually part of a sample collection from Birchbox back in January of this year, but you can pick up this color for $8.50.  It was a nice surprise because I wasn't expecting any nail color in that sample box, but I LOVE this color.  It's perfect for this time of year and it glides on so nice and smooth.  Color Club is one of my favorite nail polish companies too.

4.  Orly in Purple Velvet Rope color.

This color was picked up at Sally's Beauty Supply, but you can also order it only directly from the Orly website for $10.  I love this color because dark purple just says fall colors.

5.  Avon Nailwear in Black color.

This polish is just your basic black shade for about $8.  I do have the same brand in a gray color, but like I said before, I like to save those lighter, more magical colors, for around the Christmas and winter season.  They feel more like a snowy shade when I save them for that time of year.  This color is a basic black, but one coat of this polish you get the great solid color.

There's so many great shades to compliment a fall outfit this season.  One place I love getting ideas from is Pinterest.  I recently came across this shade here. ↓▼↓

I'm loving the new matte nail colors this season too!  This gray is amazing!

What happened this time last year?

In the garden (October 25, 2014)

Things are slowly coming to a halt here with growing, but one thing is for sure, we grew so many pumpkins, we had our very own patch going on.  We cleaned up a bit in the garden today before the wind and rain storm hit our area pretty hard.  I was glad we got a lot done before it really picked up.

This pumpkin was by far, my very favorite.  I loved how it climbed the fence line and grew hanging from the fence.

We ended up with about 16 pumpkins at the end of our cutting time in the garden.  It was great!

Baz sat pretty for about 10 seconds.......

...Then he said, "that's it, I'm out."

Now we get to go to a pumpkin patch and enjoy everything there without worrying about what pumpkins we wanted to get.  I hope we get as lucky with the pumpkins next year.

Five on Friday (Spark of Loves this Week)

I've joined the "rat pack" again for the Five on Friday posts each week.  When Christina from North Carolina Charm took a bit of a break, I decided to take one as well.  But everyone is back on track and here's what happened in my week.

1.  This New Affiliate.

Because they were this month's Brit+Co Brit Kit, and they were a blast to make!

3.  These Filberts/Hazelnuts

Because they are falling from the trees this time of year here in Oregon and they are so fun to harvest and combine in recipes like cookies.

4.  This Airplane and these Milkshakes.

Because this Styrofoam airplane, from the local hobby store, has provided countless hours of entertainment for Skylar, and he loves it!  ....And the milkshakes because like father like son, and the boys loved them!

5.  This Haircut

Because this week, I donated a little over half-a-yard of my hair to Wigs for Kids at Great Clips. Wigs for Kids offers real hair wigs to children battling cancers and helps restore their self esteem. I love the short hair and this cut will take some time to get used to, but the beachy waves worked out great with my natural curls! You can find out more about Wigs for Kids here!

This Mary Kay Party!

I'm not really one to use Mary Kay, but this party was a blast, and the makeover was amazing!  I went to it last night at a friend's house and we tried all sorts of products.  My skin has never felt so soft today.
