Tired of being tired?

I always feel like, someone's watching me-DIY Scary Eyes of Halloween

This post is one of my most pinned posts from my blog.  The idea was actually in an older issue of  Women's Day magazine that my mom had lying around her house.  I just happened to pick it up and thumb through it and thought it was a grand idea!  The post appeared on my October Halloween segment on South North South last year and has been pinned over two thousand times and shared on Google+ and Facebook even more than that.  So for the Halloween season vastly approaching, I thought I would share the DIY with everyone once again.

Here's how they are made:
What you'll need:
(Please note the Google Ads; They are there to assist you in finding the right products)

1.  One battery-operated push light such as, GE Battery Operated Push On/Off Round Closet Light 54807

2.  Sharpie Marker Variety Pack.  Make sure the pack contains black, red, yellow, and orange. Sharpie Fine-Tip Permanent Marker, 24-Pack Assorted Colors

3.  Double AA batteries, or 9V batteries, depending on what voltage your push lights require.  (Be sure and check this before leaving the store, so you don't have to go running back, like we did)

4.  Masking tape, string, or Command strips.

Lay your items our and check your lights for any defects.  Add the batteries and make sure they do actually work.

Next comes the fun part.....design a scary eyeball on top of your push light.  We went with the vein-look of a regular eyeball, but it can be as scary or as fun as you want them to be.  A monster eyeball would be a scary and fun one to create too!

Don't forget the batteries!  And get GOOD batteries too!  If you want these to glow all night while trick-or-treaters keep hitting that doorbell, I suggest the Duracell brand.

Use your masking tape, Command Strips, or string to hang the eyeballs in your front window, or glass-front door.

Now it looks like someone's watching you!

I forgot I hung these and went to the store to grab more apple cider mix, came back to my front door and they scared the daylights out of me.  So either I am easily scare, as J.T. says, or they are really scary!  Ha!

If you end up making your own version, share them with me in the comments section below by linking to your photo.  I'd love to see what you come up with!

BOO!
